The McQueens run out of time as they struggle to save their home in Hollyoaks

Are they all out of ideas?

After planning a day together, DeMarcus feels like a third wheel when loved-up couple Mercedes and Felix share more than just pork pies and leaves whilst they’re distracted with one another.

Wanting to make it up to DeMarcus after he was left feeling like a gooseberry, Mercedes manages to get her hands on 2 Gaming Station Convention tickets for Felix and his son.

With Eurovision coming to Liverpool, Goldie decides to cash in on the event and rents out Mercedes’ room to Swedish Sven to help pay the McQueens' bills.

But Goldie soon realises that Sven might not hold all the answers to the cash flow problem like she hoped after she learns that she had advertised the room per week not per night. However, Mercedes has a trick up her sleeve to help them escape their money issues... an escape room!

With the McQueens escape room open for business, its success is short-lived when PC Sam turns up and shuts it down.

There's more bad news when Francis turns up to deliver them the news that the day's disastrous activities have got back to the property company and as a result, the rent has been increased and they have until just Friday to pay up before eviction proceedings are started. Can anything save them now?

With the McQueens running out of time, Sally comes across a new money-making idea after seeing an advert for at-home telesales work. Needing all the help they can get, she sets John-Paul, Goldie, and Mercedes into putting their best phone voices into action.

When the electricity is cut off, the McQueens are left in the dark on how they’ll raise the money needed with only 24 hours left to save their home. With time of the essence, everyone scrambles to pull together any money.

It looks as though their efforts at clubbing together to bring in the cash are nearly a success until celebrations are halted when the police come to investigate stolen booze that was confiscated from the house. And Sally is concerned at what sort of dodgy dealing Mercedes has got herself into.

When Bronzer’s bad tummy turns out to be a result of him eating a £50 note, the McQueens have managed to get together the money needed to save the house. But the happiness is short-lived.

Hollyoaks continues Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with first look episodes available weekday mornings on All4 and weekday evenings at 7pm on E4
