The One About Matthew Perry coming to Netflix

The intimate docuseries, anchored by his sister, will air this October.

Netflix has announced a new three-part intimate documentary series, The One About Matthew Perry, exploring the life and legacy of Matthew Perry.

The One About Matthew Perry is the first in-depth, definitive documentary about the beloved Friends star, told by some of the people who knew him best.

Told through intimate testimonies from close family and friends, this documentary event reveals the real Matthew Perry, generous, funny, vulnerable, larger than life, and the battles he fought to become the man behind the icon. A raw record of a life lived in full, and the honesty that became his greatest legacy.

Anchored by never-before-heard testimonies from his sister Mia Perry Bowick and lifelong best friends, and featuring unreleased photos and videos from the Perry family's private archive, the three-part series traces his journey from rising comedic star to the man the world still loves as their favourite Friend.

Firsthand memories from his creative collaborators and friends who adored him are woven with candid new details on his private struggles, honouring the legacy of honesty and advocacy he leaves behind.

Speaking ahead of the documentary's launch, director Mary Robertson said "Matthew Perry was one of the comedic geniuses of our time. Through his many films, TV and stage performances, and his unforgettable portrayal of Chandler Bing, he made millions of us laugh, connect, and feel a little less alone. He also gave us so much more by bravely speaking about addiction."

Made by Maxine Productions, a part of Sony Pictures Television, The One About Matthew Perry, is directed by Mary Robertson, produced by Jessica Call, and will be executive produced by Mary Robertson, Lisa Kalikow, Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman with Lora Moftah as Co-Executive Producer
