Tragedy strikes in Hollyoaks as John Paul's drinking causes school bus crash

Will he finally have to come clean on what he’s been dealing with? And can his actions be forgiven?

Whilst teaching a class, John Paul trips and falls and Charlie catches the whole thing on camera. When he later finds Charlie and Mason laughing at the video, John Paul takes drastic action.

Things grow tense when Olivia finds out that Nancy is supervising the school camping trip instead of her. However, when she witnesses Nancy having an outburst at John Paul, Olivia sees an opportunity present itself to gain Sally’s favour.

As the camping trip approaches, Sally has some bad news for Nancy and takes away her role of chaperone to give it to Olivia.

Meanwhile, the reasons behind John Paul’s relationship with alcohol are revealed as he opens up to Prince who takes on the role of guardian and tries to keep him away from it.

As the day of the camping trip arrives, Mason bonds with classmate Freya and John Paul tries to keep a vodka bottle he's found in his puffs jacket concealed. Remaining visibly on edge, will John Paul - assigned the role of the designated driver - be tempted to take a sip?

Setting off, it’s not long before the kids grow rowdier and they get lost and when John Paul’s eyes start to close, tragedy strikes and he loses control of the vehicle.

Later, gaining consciousness, John Paul is faced with the repercussions of what he’s done whilst Olivia takes charge and rounds up the kids from the van. And panic strikes as Mason realises Freya is still in the van and stuck under all the luggage.

When the paramedics arrive, Olivia is nowhere to be found and John Paul makes an unsettling discovery as he searches for her.

As everyone rushes to the hospital, John Paul comes face-to-face with Freya’s mum and Nate’s ex-partner, Lexi. But she’s not the only one he has to answer to as Prince wants answers too.

Will John Paul finally have to come clean on what he’s been dealing with?
