Tragedy strikes in Hollyoaks as Luke passes away during trip to Mallorca

Will Cindy get to say her final goodbye?

As the sun rises on the beautiful Mallorca coast, Luke and Cindy’s pre-wedding celebrations commence, with the girls kicking back for a spa day, and the boys, dressed in matching stag-do-t-shirts, exploring the island.

But things get off to a rocky start for the boys when they discover the boat they have hired is a far cry away from the speedboat they were expecting. Luckily, a kind stranger called Alex saves the day by showing them a good time.

Whilst showing off Cindy's wedding ring, Luke and the rest of the stag-do face armed robbers as Luke exacerbates the situation.

Meanwhile, feeling insecure about a comment Yazz made, Tom interrupts her hen-do massage and ends up making the situation worse. As he seeks advice from Cindy, they're soon interrupted by the stark-naked stag-do, who reveal that they’ve been mugged!

As the party say goodbye to new friend Alex, Luke spots his glistening jewellery, and wonders, why they weren’t stolen too and soon, makes a shocking realisation.

When Luke is set with a dangerous task, failure has a deadly cost for Ollie. But will he remember what he must do to save his son’s life?

With many touching moments and heartfelt reflections, the holiday is full of highs and lows, but as tragedy strikes at sunset, the final chapter of Luke Morgan takes place.

As Luke’s loved ones as wait with anticipation at his bedside for some news, Tony tries to keep spirits up with a pep talk on Luke's resilience. But it's not long before Cindy gets the heart-breaking news that the doctors can’t do any more for him.

Returning home, the Cunningham family are faced with the reality of Luke being gone for good, but Cindy’s behaviour is particularly alarming when she puts on her wedding dress and insists on opening the burger stall.

In touching scenes, Ollie surprises Cindy at the folly, revealing that Luke had been taking dancing lessons for the wedding, and as he shows her what he learned, Cindy gets to say her final goodbye to Luke.
