CELEBS GO DATING

Monday 4th to Friday 8th May

9pm | E4

Celebs Go Dating returns to E4 this week for its 15th series, with Professor Green, James Haskell, Coleen Nolan, Lucinda Light, Gabby Allen, returning agency client David Potts, and late arrival PK Humble all entering the celebrity dating agency, putting their romantic lives on the line in the ultimate search for love.

Following the success of last year’s format shake-up, which saw the celebs whisked away to Ibiza at the very start of the series, this time, the celebs will head to sun-soaked Tenerife with their chosen dates, where stripped of routines, responsibilities and outside noise, sparks can fly, and relationships can develop. But will holiday romance translate into something real once they’re back home?

Guiding them through the highs, lows and awkward moments of dating once again is the show’s trusted expert trio. As accredited therapist Anna Williamson, dating and relationship expert Paul C. Brunson, and sexual communication specialist Dr. Tara Suwinyattichaiporn all return to offer straight-talking advice, emotional support and expert matchmaking.

Also back at the heart of the agency is Tom Read Wilson, reprising his role as Senior Client Coordinator and Celeb Confidante. Fresh from his recent jungle adventure, Tom brings his trademark warmth, wit and vast vocabulary to the celebs’ search for love.

 RETURNING COMEDY

AMANDALAND

Wednesday 6th May

9pm | BBC One

Amandaland is back! And this time, Amanda still living in SoHa, juggling teenagers, her online Senuous brand and her “co-lab” working at Kitchen’s Bathrooms and Kitchens. Resigned to staying in the area, she is, however, thrilled by the opening of a hipster coffee shop, which to her mind, represents a step towards gentrification.

By mid-series, Amanda’s head has been turned by a big house in the area that's up for sale. Desperate to own it, she turns to her mother, only to discover that getting Felicity on board financially comes at a price. Her mum may seem evergreen, but is definitely starting to show signs of ageing, so maybe living alone is no longer an option…

Fellow divorcee Mal is still Amanda’s basement neighbour, and that tiniest of romantic frissons has not disappeared. Harriet Webb joins the series as his ex, no-nonsense Abs, with whom Amanda struggles to connect. Mal’s unlikely bromance with Abs’s new husband JJ, continues, while Fi starts to find her calling as a professional dog walker when Della goes off to work on a cruise.

And of course Anne remains Amanda’s loyal and long-suffering best friend, as they all navigate the challenges of parenting teenagers, through exams, relationships and, for the season finale, the school prom.

LEGENDS

Thursday 7th May

Netflix

Neil Forsyth's new drama for Netflix, Legends, launches this week and is set in the early 1990s, a time when Her Majesty’s Customs and Excise was losing its battle with illegal drug smuggling across Britain’s borders. The solution was extraordinary.

In a top-secret operation, a small team of Customs employees were sent undercover. Their task was to infiltrate Britain’s most dangerous drug gangs. But these were not trained spies. They were normal men and women, plucked from ordinary lives around the UK, put through a basic training regime and tasked with building new identities in the criminal underworld. These identities were called Legends.

Legends stars Steve Coogan, Tom Burke, Hayley Squires, Tom Hughes, Aml Ameen, Jasmine Blackborow, Douglas Hodge, Johnny Harris, Gerald Kyd, Numan Acar, Charlotte Ritchie, Joshua Samuels, Kem Hassan, and Thomas Coombes.

 BRAND NEW CELEBRATION

DAVID ATTENBOROUGH'S
100 YEARS ON PLANET EARTH

Friday 8th May

8.30pm | BBC One

To mark Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday, Kirsty Young will present a live 90-minute special event honouring one of the most influential figures in broadcasting and natural history storytelling.

Broadcast from the Royal Albert Hall in London, the show promises to bring the nation together to celebrate and honour David’s groundbreaking career, taking audiences on an extraordinary journey through a century of exploration and discovery in the natural world, seen through the prism of David’s remarkable life and work.

The evening combines some of the most memorable wildlife moments from the BBC’s natural history archive, with live music drawn from David’s most iconic television series, alongside reflections from public figures and leading voices in conservation and wildlife filmmaking.

As the celebrations unfold, Kirsty will be joined on stage by those who have worked with David and been inspired by his work over the years, including broadcasters Liz Bonnin, Steve Backshall, Chris Packham, and Michael Palin, who will reflect on the impact of David’s work, the legacy he continues to shape and his unique ability to bring the wonders of the natural world into people’s homes.

Accompanied throughout by the BBC Concert Orchestra, the programme will feature iconic music from landmark series including Planet Earth, Blue Planet and Frozen Planet. The orchestra will perform scores associated with some of television’s most unforgettable sequences, including the dramatic snakes and iguanas chase from Planet Earth II and the powerful wave-washing orcas sequence from Frozen Planet II.

The evening will also feature special performances from music artists who have collaborated on these series. Bastille frontman Dan Smith will join the BBC Concert Orchestra to perform the band’s famous track Pompeii, featured in Planet Earth III, while Icelandic band Sigur Rós will perform Hoppípolla, which was used in the promotion of Planet Earth and Planet Earth II.

Other musical highlights include Sienna Spiro, one of the most exciting new voices in British music, and Paraguayan harpist Francisco Yglesia, who will play the traditional Pajaro Campana, a piece which featured in Zoo Quest.

Bringing together breathtaking wildlife imagery, live orchestral and contemporary music, and contributions from those who have worked alongside David throughout his career, and those who feel passionately about the natural world, the programme celebrates not only a broadcasting legend, but a century-long relationship between audiences and nature.
