Larry David is BACK!



This week's best telly includes a new historical sketch show from Larry David, the return of Wimbledon across the BBC, and Legally Blonde prequel series Elle launches on Prime Video.


Elsewhere, Silo returns to Apple TV for its third series and Survival of the Thickest returns to Netflix for its third and final season.

Larry David is BACK! This time with a historical sketch show, which reimagines major milestones in United States history as if Larry David were always there to insert his signature, petty grievances.


President and Mrs Obama wanted to honour America’s 250th anniversary and celebrate the unique history of our nation on this special occasion... But then Larry David called.


In addition to Larry David, the series will feature select Curb Your Enthusiasm actors and noteworthy guest stars, including Jerry Seinfeld.

Following the recent announcement that coverage will continue on the BBC until 2033, Wimbledon returns this week, promising deeper analysis and more ways to watch than ever before.


From the iconic lawns of SW19, coverage of Wimbledon will be fronted by Clare Balding CBE and Isa Guha MBE, who lead the daily TV coverage across BBC One, BBC Two, and BBC iPlayer, as well as John McEnroe, Martina Navratilova, Pat Cash, Tim Henman OBE, Annabel Croft and Kyle Edmund. This will also mark Andrew Castle’s last Wimbledon on the BBC team after over 20 years on commentary duties.


New arrivals include two-time Wimbledon mixed doubles champion Jamie Murray OBE, who joins as BBC Sport’s dedicated analysis expert, and former Wimbledon finalist Eugenie (Genie) Bouchard, offering a contemporary player’s perspective on the realities of competing at the highest level. And former British number one Laura Robson returns to Wimbledon, bringing her engaging style and expert knowledge courtside throughout the fortnight.

Prime Video's Legally Blonde prequel series Elle follows Elle Woods in high school as we learn about the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman we came to know and love in the first Legally Blonde film.


We meet her in 1995 as a fish in the tumultuous waters of high school, where she encounters tricky friendships, forbidden romance, and questionable fashion choices.


Through it all, Elle uses her family as a touchstone and forms an even tighter bond with her mother, proving that they can get through anything life throws their way as long as they have each other. With each challenge she faces, Elle grows closer to the Elle Woods we know and love today.

SILO

Silo returns to Apple TV this week for its third season, continuing the saga of a dystopian society of 10,000 people living underground under mysterious circumstances, while revealing an origin story set centuries earlier.


In the present, Juliette Nichols, played by Rebecca Ferguson, survives her forced “cleaning” but returns with memory loss as the silo recovers from rebellion and faces a dangerous new threat.


Meanwhile, in the “Before Times,” journalist Helen Drew, played by Jessica Henwick, and Congressman Daniel Keene, played by Ashley Zukerman, uncover a conspiracy that pulls them into a chain of events with catastrophic, irreversible consequences.
