This week's best telly includes Netflix's highly anticipated new spy thriller Black Doves, starring Keira Knightly, Ben Whishaw and Sarah Lancashire, Disney+'s newest Star Wars adventure Skeleton Crew and the return of Bertie Carvel in Channel 5's Dalgliesh.

As we get ever closer to this year's Strictly final, the six remaining couples are all hoping to secure rave reviews in Musicals Week, enough to see them through to next week's semi-final.
Each couple will be performing routines inspired by some of the other best-loved musicals from across the decades, hoping to impress both the judges and the viewers at home.

Keira Knightly, Ben Whishaw and Sarah Lancashire star in Netflix's highly anticipated new spy thriller Black Doves from Joe Barton, which is set against the backdrop of London at Christmas and follows Helen Webb, a quick-witted, down-to-earth, dedicated wife and mother and professional spy.
For 10 years, she’s been passing on her politician husband’s secrets to the shadowy organisation she works form the Black Doves. When her secret lover Jason is assassinated, her spymaster, the enigmatic Reed calls in Helen’s old friend to keep her safe.
Ben Whishaw plays Sam Young, a suave, Champagne-drinking assassin. But having been out of the game since a failed job with disastrous consequences, he’s come home to a London that has moved on without him. As his past threatens to catch up with him, his task is to protect Helen as she investigates who killed Jason and why.
Together, they set off on a mission that will lead them to uncover a vast, interconnected conspiracy. One that links the murky underworld of London to a looming geopolitical crisis - and leads them to question the cost of the moral choices they’ve made.

Channel 5's hit drama Dalgliesh returns this week for its third series with Bertie Carvel reprising his role as Commander Adam Dalgliesh.
Set in 1979, the third series sees him take on three highly charged and highly sensitive cases in different parts of the country.
In West Sussex, the residents of St Anselm’s Seminary are disgruntled by the arrival of their new trustee, Archdeacon Matthew Crampton, who's on a crusade to modernise the seminary by selling of its valuable assets, including The Doom, a magnificent altarpiece.
The next morning, following a bitter argument in church, the archdeacon is found dead at the altar. Commander Dalgliesh and DS Tarrant arrive to investigate. They find that nearly everyone here has a personal grievance with the deceased archdeacon and several have lied about their movements last night.
As accusations fly around St Anselm’s, the residents are shocked by another death.

Prime Video's new comedy drama The Sticky, is inspired by the Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist that made global headlines in 2012, which saw more than $18 million worth of maple syrup stolen from Quebec's national reserves.
The series stars Margo Martindale, Chris Diamantopoulos and Guillaume Cyr as the unlikely trio of maple syrup thieves who evade the long arm of the law, create mayhem in their quest for liquid gold, and potentially dabble in murder.
Ruth Landry is a maple syrup farmer who, in defiance of a heartless system, assembles a team to undertake the Canadian heist of the century. The target: the country’s multi-million dollar maple syrup surplus.
The Sticky also stars Jamie Lee Curtis in a guest role.
