 RETURNING DOCUMENTARY

BLUE PLANET III

Sunday 1st November at 8pm on BBC One

Stream on BBC iPlayer

25 years ago, The Blue Planet was the first natural history series to give a comprehensive overview of the world’s oceans, and following Blue Planet II in 2017, Blue Planet III launches this week, with Sir David Attenborough returning to narrate.

Blue Planet III promises to build on the groundbreaking legacy of the previous two series, redefining the realm of possibility in underwater wildlife film-making.

It will reveal brand new and untold stories from magical underwater worlds. Combining our deeper understanding of the oceans with a whole new generation of camera technology, including splash drones, long-term remote underwater cameras and a 'mini dome', we can now showcase stunning stories and extraordinary behaviours, previously impossible to film or only recently discovered.

Where Blue Planet II exposed the threats to our oceans, Blue Planet III will also explore stories of adaptation and resilience in this changing world, along with stories of hope and recovery.

The series will focus on the planet’s five key underwater habitats: Tropical Seas; Open Ocean; Seasonal Seas; Polar Waters and The Deep, and in the sixth and final episode, attention turns to the future of our seas, exploring what we need to do to protect them in Future Seas.

Sunday 1st November at 9pm on Sky Documentaries

Stream on Sky and NOW

Launching this week on Sky Documentaries is Boyzone: One for the Road, a new one-off documentary following the huge success of Boyzone: No Matter What, which takes fans behind the scenes as the band prepares to reunite for the last time.

Against the backdrop of decades of personal history and the pressure of thousands of expectant fans, the band return carrying unresolved tensions and unfinished business from their final tour in 2019.

This time, they want to go out on their own terms and have the send-off that they, and the fans so badly want.

The documentary will be followed by a special showing of the band's 'One for the Road' concert, recorded at the Emirates Stadium in June 2026.

 RETURNING DRAMA

BLACK DOVES

Thursday 5th November on Netflix

Black Doves returns this week to Netflix for its second series as Keira Knightley returns as Helen, who is still betraying her nation’s secrets to the covert organisation she serves: the Black Doves.

After the misadventures of last Christmas, and with her husband Wallace, played by Andrew Buchan, preparing to become Prime Minister, she is walking a more treacherous line than ever.

As Helen’s enigmatic handler Mrs Reed, played by Sarah Lancashire, is ensnared in a ruthless plot to undermine her position in the Black Doves, Helen is reunited with her best friend Sam, played by Ben Whishaw. The once high-end triggerman is now reduced to lonely drinks in Soho bars and low-rate hits.

As they search for answers, loyalties are weaponised, trust is shattered, and the fight to protect the people they love could cost everything.

THE ASSASSIN

Friday 6th November on Prime Video

The Assassin returns this week to Prime Video for its second series, and after a disastrous search for Edward's birth mother tore them apart, Edward is forced to reunite with Julie when his wife, Kayla, is kidnapped.

Set against sun-soaked Spain, this action thriller blends humour and high-stakes chaos as the duo take on the country’s corrupt underworld while facing the past that broke them to save the future that still matters.
