When Isla accidentally knocks over a smoothie, spilling it all over Nicolette’s phone, Nicolette panics about unbacked-up photos, many of Isla with David. Swooping in to help, Haz manages to get the moisture out and sets about salvaging all the potentially lost photos, voice memos, notes, call logs, and deleted files.
Keeping an eye on the procedure while Haz is busy in Harold’s, Aaron notices a folder marked “FAMILY.” Opening it, he discovers Nicolette’s dossier of evidence she’d been amassing against him.
Reeling, Aaron demands an explanation from Nicolette and questions if she was plotting a custody battler or planning to run again.
Despite her assuring him that the dossier was an insurance policy from a long time ago, he reveals seeing it was last modified around the time he suggested using David’s life insurance money to buy a house together. Feeling violated, Aaron is at a loss as to how he can co-parent with Nicolette again.
Later, Nicolette fails to rationalise her actions to Jane, who points out that she is the one who has been repeatedly untrustworthy. Also on Aaron's side, Leo declares that Nicolette is to be a silent partner at Yorokobi until he can afford to buy her out.
When it doesn’t look like things can get any worse for Nicolette, Jane delivers her judgement, stating that what Nicolette has done is unforgivable and it’s unreasonable to expect Aaron to have to live with her anymore.
When Nicolette begs Jane to reconsider her big decision, she stands firm. After airing her uncertainties with Melanie, Jane emerges from their chat convinced that her stance is justified.
