Alison Steadman and Larry Lamb reunite for new Billericay to Barry road trip for Gold

The Gavin & Stacey favourites will take a trip down memory lane as they make the iconic road trip from Billericay to Barry... the long way round!

From their infamous onscreen relationship in Gavin & Stacey as Pam and Mick Shipman to their heart-warming offscreen friendship, across three episodes on Gold, Alison Steadman and Larry Lamb will stop off at places that have special meaning to them both.

In Alison & Larry: Billericay to Barry, the TV favourites will make the 210-mile journey whilst stopping off at beauty spots in the glorious countryside and visiting locations that have an intimate connection to them and Gavin & Stacey.

In addition to taking part in activities designed to unleash their inner ‘Pam and Mick’, they’ll get the chance to meet up with old friends from the show along the way.

Speaking about the new project, Alison Steadman OBE said "I can’t wait to take this trip down memory lane to explore Pam and Mick’s neck of the woods, as well as so many other locations precious to me. And who better to do it with than Larry! I’m so excited to be reunited."

To which Larry Lamb added "I am really looking forward to reminiscing with Alison whilst taking the trip from Billericay to Barry, it was such a huge part in the plot of Gavin and Stacey. This journey holds a special place in my heart and I hope the fans are pleased with it."

The three-part series is being produced by RDF West (part of RDF, a Banijay UK company) and will be executive produced by Jo Scarratt-Jones and Fiona Gay and has been commissioned for UKTV by commissioning editor Kirsty Hanson and ordered by Gerald Casey, channel director for Gold and Hilary Rosen, director of commissioning.

On the new series, Kirsty Hanson said "To make this original series for Gold is a joy, I am so pleased viewers get to join Alison and Larry on this road trip from Billericay to Barry. What’s so unique about this series is we get to eavesdrop on their lovely, warm friendship that has spanned decades and have a real laugh. We might even bump into a few Gavin and Stacey stars along the way, and get to see a bit of that famous Mick and Pam dynamic emerge."

To which Gerald Casey added "It is such a pleasure to have Alison and Larry back on our screens. I know that Gold viewers are going to absolutely love this insight into their off screen chemistry just as much as they love Pam and Mick! Gavin and Stacey is an integral part of the Gold schedule and this series is the perfect tribute."

And Executive Producer Fiona Gay said "We are extremely excited to be making this series for Gold. To be working with national treasures, and real-life friends, Alison and Larry as they go on this iconic and joyous trip down memory lane is such a treat. There will be plenty of laughs, insightful memories and no doubt a few sing alongs, too."
