Can Andrew fix things with Steven and Gretchen?

12-18 JULY
Andrew and Wendy are both excited that his biological father and sister will be coming to Sadie’s 21st birthday party and Wendy is sure she’ll be able to move past the rocky start she had with Andrew’s sister, who initially told her a pack of lies in a misguided attempt to protect her father from strangers.

Unfortunately, however, Wendy’s hurt still lingers and when Gretchen behaves as though they should’ve moved past this by now, Wendy is left feeling hard done by. And tensions escalate between the women.

Despite Andrew asking Wendy to let it go, the conflict eventually blows up, leading to Gretchen storming out with Steven, leaving Andrew extremely disappointed and frustrated.
Upset with Wendy for driving his biological family to leave the party, Andrew isn't interested in her excuses, believing she should have risen above any offence Gretchen gave her. When Sadie discovers her new relatives left without meeting her, she’s extremely disappointed, but Andrew and Holly comfort her, assuring that Steven won’t let one conflict get in the way of having a relationship.
Andrew assures Sadie he’ll fix things with Steven and Gretchen, but it won’t be today and the best thing they can do now is put it out of their heads and try and have a nice party.
Wendy is unnerved by Andrew’s choice to sidebar their conflict, needing more clarity on exactly where they stand. But although she tries to pin him down to another conversation, outside forces, mostly in the form of Saskia, keep getting in the way.
As Andrew tries to play happy families throughout the day, he is reminded again of how supportive Holly has been through the whole ordeal with his new relatives.

Despite not receiving an invite, Saskia turns up to the party, anxious to spend time with her brother. But when he’s more interested in other people, her attention returns to Wendy, who she follows around like a shadow, trying to monopolise her attention and gain her approval.
Unfortunately, Wendy is extremely anxious to get some alone time with Andrew and Saskia’s constant presence is a major source of irritation. Eventually she blows up at her, leaving Saskia bitterly disappointed.
The next day, when Wendy dodges her again at school, Saskia’s rage hardens and she takes the opportunity to lock Wendy in a store cupboard.
As Wendy remains trapped in the school storeroom, Andrew expresses concerns about her whereabouts and Jane heads back to the school and finds her. Wendy is convinced Saskia is responsible, but when she and Jane confront her, Saskia denies it and turns on the waterworks, causing an overloaded Jane to take Saskia’s side and snap at Wendy for being unprofessional.
Giving Saskia an alibi, Dex claims she was with him at Harold’s when it happened, as he doesn’t believe Saskia could be capable of something so mean. He also suggests that Saskia should ask Susan if there are any part-time jobs available at Eirini.
Susan encourages Saskia to apply, and later informs her that her application was successful. And as Susan takes her on an early orientation tour, when the tour ends, Saskia looks for reasons to prolong their time together.
Susan is initially delighted, even more so when Saskia drops by the Kennedy house having fixed the glasses Susan broke earlier. As the bond between them grows, is it healthy?
