 14-20 JUNE

As Darcy continues to charm Sadie, he tells her to stick to her guns regarding Amanda’s will, but her guilt over the issue isn’t placated and she reaches a compromise with the Harris family, offering to split the trustee role and money with Byron, but keep some for the scholarship.

Despite still being angry over their break-up, Byron ultimately agrees to the offer, but when Sadie shares the news with Darcy, he lets his stress show, calling her a stupid girl. He knew she wouldn’t be able to stand her ground!

Meanwhile, Paul meets with Tess Bell, Darcy’s ex-wife, explaining that Karl has had a stroke. Tess is shocked by the news and reveals that Darcy didn’t tell her. As her concerns spill out, Tess reveals that Darcy said he wanted to leave town and have her go with him. It’s clear to Paul and Tess that Darcy’s covering his tracks because he’s done something terrible. Is he somehow responsible for Karl’s stroke?

When Darcy spots the pair talking, he approaches Paul, who relishes telling him that Karl’s shown signs of improvement. After hearing this news, Darcy decides he needs to book a flight out of Erinsborough. As Susan continues to watch over Karl, Remi confirms he’s shown progress, and Susan isn’t surprised to hear that no opioids were found in Karl’s system, despite Darcy finding drugs in his bag.

After reporting his suspicions about Darcy to Susan, Paul urges her to get Karl tested for other drugs that might cause stroke symptoms. Susan agrees, also wary that her nephew’s been up to no good.

Later, Karl wakes from his coma to find Darcy injecting a stronger dose of drugs into his IV drip, trying to buy himself some more time so he can make his escape.

As JJ comforts Nell, who’s fretting over Karl’s condition, they run into Jasmine, who is happy to oblige when JJ asks her to call Elenora at Eirini Rising and translate a concern she had.

Jasmine explains that Elenora’s medication has gone missing, which JJ and Nell pass on to Susan and Terese and Susan’s shocked to learn it’s one of the medications Paul mentioned could’ve caused Karl’s illness.

Later, Susan arrives home to find a frazzled Darcy on the street and the two sense each other’s nerves and do their best to diffuse the other’s suspicions.

After spotting Darcy’s packed bags, in preparation to flee, Susan attempts to engage him in conversation about the next steps in Karl’s care. And Darcy offers to make them a drink, before slipping a pill into Susan’s tea.

When Byron, Jane and Nicolette stop to apologise to Sadie over the fallout involving Amanda’s will, she reveals an altercation she had with Darcy, which sparks the interest of a passing Paul, who voices Karl’s concerns over Darcy’s involvement in Amanda’s affairs and encourages further investigation.

Having returned to find a dividend statement for ‘Sage Keys’ in Amanda’s name, Byron quizzes Amanda’s lawyer, who reveals the shares were recently transferred to Darcy. Needing to escape Erinsborough as soon as he can, Darcy encourages Susan to drink up, and she obliges.

As Darcy waits for the effects of the pill to take hold on Susan, he feels himself start to waver before passing out cold.

Waking up in the hospital, cuffed to the bed, Darcy learns that Susan switched their tea, and he’s now been caught.

Darcy refuses to explain how he could’ve done such a thing to Karl, and whether or not he killed Amanda, and Holly gushes over Susan’s bravery to a frail Karl, who tells Susan she’s his hero.

As Darcy is led out in cuffs following his arrest, Jane confronts him, demanding to know what happened to her mother. But a deeply ashamed Darcy refuses to answer.

As the Eirini Rising residents grapple with the fallout of Darcy’s actions, Terese encourages Paul to surprise Leo and Krista overseas. Paul is reluctant to leave her with her as she has so much on, but Terese assures her she has support in Colton, who’s eager to make a positive mark on his first day.

As Vera voices her discontent, Colton soothes her concerns, bringing her around to a more forgiving point of view, impressing Terese in the process.
