Can he convince her that he’s not?

10-16 OCTOBER

When Debbie announces that she’s off to work, Ronnie reminds her she booked the day off. Not wanting to admit that she’d totally forgotten, Debbie makes out she’s got back-to-back meetings and couldn’t cancel them, and Ronnie plays along.

At the Chariot Square Hotel, Ronnie thanks Ryan for finding some work for Debbie to do and keeping her busy. Watching them, Debbie senses they’re discussing her.

As Debbie sets about making some toast for Carl, Ronnie catches her poking a knife into the toaster. Horrified, he quickly rips the plug out of the socket and Debbie gets upset, accusing him of treating her like a toddler.

When Bernie fails to show up for lunch, Debbie is annoyed and Asha suggests they have lunch together. But when Ronnie calls to check on Debbie she takes offence and heads out. When Asha urges Ronnie to join the local dementia support group, will he agree?

As Debbie potters about in the kitchen, she finds a leaflet in the bin and is horrified to realise it’s an advert for a care home.

Turning down Debbie’s offer of an afternoon lie down, Ronnie tells her he’s nipping to grab them some lunch.

Fearing the worst, Debbie summons Abi to the flat and tells her she’s convinced Ronnie’s seeing someone else and planning to put her in a care home.

When Ronnie tells Debbie that he’s off to a meeting, a suspicious Debbie calls Abi and asks her to keep an eye on him.

As Abi passes Victoria Garden she spies Ronnie with his arms around another woman. When Ronnie explains that the woman was from the support group, Abi urges him to come clean to Debbie but Ronnie refuses.

Later, Ronnie assures Debbie that he’s not having an affair, and she relents and tells him that for his birthday she’s booked the honeymoon suite at the hotel.

But when Ronnie arrives at the hotel with his overnight bag, Debbie’s mortified to realise she’d forgotten and hired the honeymoon suite out to someone else.

Coronation Street continues Monday to Friday at 8.30pm on ITV1 with first look episodes available from 7am on ITVX
