Will Kit finally agree to take to the stand?

10-16 OCTOBER

As Kit prepares for his first chemotherapy session, Brody arrives to see him. Kit puts on a brave face, plugs in his electric razor and lets Brody shave his hair for him.

At the hospital, Kit finds support with Bernie by talking about stories of his childhood.

Later at home, Brody calls and tells Kit he needs him more than ever and to keep fighting as Kit hugs him tight.

When Sarah asks him to act as a character reference for her, Kit refuses. When Bethany confronts him to reconsider, Kit finally reveals he has cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy. What will Bethany say?

When Bethany puts pressure on him to come clean to Sarah about his cancer before her trial, Kit refuses point blank.

When Bethany and Todd visit Sarah, she tells them she understands Kit’s decision not to help her, and Todd blurts out that Kit’s got breast cancer.

As Sarah reels in shock, Bethany’s horrified and begs her mum to let Gary carry the can for Theo’s murder, pointing out that she needs her, Kit needs her, and Harry needs her. Torn, what will Sarah do?

Meanwhile, a stressed Gary tells Maria that he’s been given a date for his hearing and Jake and Liam get upset when he tells them that he might be sent to prison.

Soon, Gary takes a call from the school informing him that Jake’s been suspended for fighting and later in the flat, Jake rounds on Gary for risking his freedom for Sarah and tells him it’s obvious he doesn’t care about him, Liam or Maria.

With Gary and Maria having gone to the pub, Jake packs his rucksack and heads out.

Having discovered Jake’s bed untouched, Gary calls Izzy and is shocked when she reveals that Jake stayed at hers and made it clear he doesn’t want to stay with him anymore. When Izzy calls at Victoria Court for the rest of Jakes’s things, Gary is deeply upset and meets up with Jake in the café, begging him to come home. But Jake sticks to his guns and points out that he put Sarah before his family, and for that reason, he won’t be moving back any time soon.

Meanwhile, Maria assures Gary that Sarah won’t let him down, he won’t be sent to prison and Jake will be back before he knows it. And Gary hopes she’s right. At the trial, the prosecution barrister questions Gary.

Surveying her prison cell, Sarah worries it might be her home for many years and in court, the prosecution barrister tells the jury how Sarah was so angered by Theo’s treatment of Todd that she took the law into her own hands and killed him.

When Lisa and Danielle take the witness stand, the trial takes a devastating turn for Sarah.

Later, David accuses Lisa of sabotaging Sarah’s defence, before turning his attention to Kit, tearing a strip off him for the lack of support. Losing his temper, Kit tells David and Bethany that he wants nothing more to do with their family.

Clocking Todd heading into the undertakers, Tyrone queries why he isn’t in court and Todd admits that he can’t face it.

In the courtroom, the prosecution barrister rips into Sarah. Having been convinced by Tyrone that he owes it to himself and Sarah to tell the truth, Todd takes the stand and defends Sarah.

Bethany puts pressure on Kit to step up to the plate, not only for Sarah’s sake but for Harry’s too. Will Kit agree?

Later, Bethany tells David that Sarah’s barrister called and Kit won’t be attending court.

Hurrying out of the courtroom, an upset Bethany returns home and puts pressure on Kit to do the right thing.

When Kit takes the stand, will he tell the whole truth?

Calling Bethany from prison, Sarah tells her that if she’s found guilty, she’d like her to have custody of Harry.
