Diane Morgan's 'Mandy' returning to BBC Two for a fourth series

Watch out! Mandy Carter is back.

Today the BBC has announcd that Diane Morgan's hit comedy Mandy will be returning for a fourth series on BBC Two, as filming begins.

In the new series, Mandy continues to live hand-to-wonky-mouth, cooking up enough dodgy side hustles and trashy cash hacks to hopefully climb up into the squeezed middle and out of the squashed bottom.

Constantly harassed, pursued and persecuted by her benefits officer, played by Tom Basden, Mandy finds solace in her friend Lola’s salon, drinking in the heady aroma of cheap bleach and Minty Pig nail polish.

Returning cast includes Michelle Greenidge, Tom Basden, Mark Silcox, Alistair Green, Michael Spicer, Miles Chapman, Tony Way, Robbie Gee, Pearce Quigley, Ben Rufus Green and Yuriko Kotani.

Joining the cast for series four will be Sian Gibson, Rosie Cavaliero, Cheryl Fergison, Jamie Bisping and Joanna Bacon.

Speaking ahead of the new series, Diane Morgan said "I couldn’t be more thrilled to be asked to provide a quote for a press release that tells people how thrilled I am that the BBC is bringing back Mandy. However I am too busy writing, directing and starring in the show to come up with anything, so I’ve asked someone else to write it. They are thrilled."

To which the BBC's Director of Comedy, Jon Petrie added "Series 3 saw Mandy save a plane from a terrorist attack, commit mass murder with a blowpipe, and get fired from a biscuit factory. Mandy gets bigger, bolder, and more brilliantly absurd with every series—and we’re here for every hilarious moment of Diane Morgan’s brilliant creation."

Produced by BBC Studios Comedy Productions and Witchcraft Industries, Mandy is written and directed by Diane Morgan, produced by Kenny Tanner and executive produced by Ben Caudell.
