 30 AUGUST - 5 SEPTEMBER

As Aaron and Rhett drive off to Adelaide, Paul’s feeling sentimental about his children and tries to build a bridge with Krista, but gets a surprise text from Elle to let him know that she's quit her job and is on her way home. But is there more to her snap decision?

With Elle back from New York, both Terese and Krista sense there’s something more going on with her snap return and Terese is wary of her, given she organised all Paul’s ex-wives to come back into their lives just before their 2019 wedding.

Despite Paul taking Elle at her word when she tells him that she was just testing him, not trying to break them up, Terese remains wary. And Elle doesn’t help herself when joking about Terese and Toadie’s marriage.

Terese and Krista encourage Leo to contact a mutual friend of his and Elle’s from New York to find out why she would leave a job she was so devoted to. And Leo’s friend soon reveals Elle didn’t quit her job, she was fired, in scandalous circumstances.

In front of everyone, Terese confronts Elle who has some serious explaining to do. Reluctantly, she admits that she was fired and Terese eventually apologises, but Elle isn't convinced it's genuine.

Meanwhile, Terese has a mysterious meeting with Colton Keys, who now works for the Sunset Retirement Group and he presents her with a tempting offer. The group will buy Eirini, solving Terese’s financial issues, but it comes at a price. Susan will lose her job.

Overhearing Terese confiding in Paul about the offer, including the condition that Susan will lose her job, Elle decides to use it as payback.

When Susan meets with a potential buyer for one of Eirini’s studios, Monte Jones, she quickly realises he’s a celebrity, famed for a coffee advert in the eighties and a distinctive catchphrase. Determined to protect his anonymity from Vera and Moira, Susan is surprised when Monte reveals he loves the attention.

With the contract signed, Susan revels in her success, only to be blindsided when Elle tells her the news of Eirini’s impending sale and Susan losing her job.

When Susan confronts Terese about the Sunset Retirement Group’s offer to buy Eirini, including the condition that she will lose her job, Terese is on the back foot and admits the offer is true, has no intention of selling.

However, after debriefing with Toadie, Susan urges Terese to rethink the offer. Privately gutted at the thought of losing her job, Susan isn’t ready to retire once again and Toadie urges her to be honest with Terese and when they are, Terese and Susan realise they are better off as the dream team to turn Eirini around.

When Terese discovers that it was Elle who told Susan about the offer, she confronts her and Elle feigns innocence, citing that she heard Terese tell Paul and thought it was common knowledge. Seeing through the ruse, Terese suggests they reach a truce for the sake of Paul and Elle reluctantly agrees, but both she and Terese remain privately uneasy toward each other.
