Fleabag comes to London's West End

As Phoebe Waller-Bridge performs the career-defining role one final time.

Following the huge success of the BBC Three series, Phoebe Waller-Bridge has agreed to return to London to perform her 2013 one-woman play Fleabag at Wyndham's Theatre, for a strictly limited four-week run.

Before Fleabag was the huge TV show it is now, it was a one-woman play written and performed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Produced by Phoebe, Vicky Jones and producer Francesca Moody’s company DryWrite, it previewed at Soho Theatre before its Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut in 2013.

The play that inspired the hit television series is a rip-roaring look at some sort of woman living her sort of life. Fleabag may seem oversexed, emotionally unfiltered and self-obsessed, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. With family and friendships under strain and a guinea pig café struggling to keep afloat, Fleabag suddenly finds herself with nothing to lose.

This run is confirmed to be the final time she'll perform the piece with previews beginning Tuesday 20th August ahead of the official opening night on Wednesday 28th August.

Speaking about the new West End run, director Vicky Jones said "It’s a privilege to have contributed to the journey of Fleabag with Phoebe thus far and we couldn’t be more pleased the show is returning home to London alongside DryWrite for a West End run."

Since 2013, Phoebe has returned to Soho Theatre in 2014 and 2016 and recently performed a sold-out Off-Broadway revival to critical acclaim in New York.

33 tickets in the front row and boxes for each performance of Fleabag will be sold through an on-the-day lottery at the theatre for £20 each. In addition there will be 33 standing tickets per performance at £10 each which will be available on a first come first served basis.

Fleabag runs at Wyndham's Theatre from 20th August - Saturday 14th September 2019. Book tickets here.
