Grace is returning to ITV1 for its seventh series

After THAT dramatic finale, we WILL get answers!

Following last weekend's dramatic finale, which culminated in the dramatic, edge-of-your-seat kidnap at the wedding of Roy Grace and Cleo Morey, ITV1 has confirmed that Grace, starring John Simm and Richie Campbell, will be returning for a seventh series.

Viewers were left desperately wanting to know what happens next and the new series airing in 2027 will promise some answers as well as explosive new cases across four gripping standalone films.

Based on characters from the best-selling Roy Grace novels by Peter James, these new investigations will include the titles When You Are Dead and Picture You Dead, with the remaining titles to be confirmed as the series is developed.

Also back alongside John Simm and Richie Campbell will be Zoë Tapper, as the newly imperilled Cleo Morey, Laura Elphinstone as the tenacious DS Bella Moy and Brad Morrison as DC Nick Nicholl.

Speaking on the show's success, John Simm said "Honestly, if someone had said we’d be doing this for seven seasons when we first started this in lockdown I would never have believed it. But the reason I and many others have remained part of this series for so long is down to the team and the writing. It continues to excite and be such a joy for all and we can’t wait to see what's coming next…"

To which ITV's Louise Ogunnaike added "Grace has become a cornerstone of the ITV schedule, and the audience’s appetite for Roy Grace’s world only seems to grow with every season."

Also speaking ahead of the show's return, Executive Producer Phil Hunter said "Straight off the back of the success of series 6 on ITV and ITVX, I’m thrilled that we are back for a 7th series. Following Cleo’s kidnap, we pick up Grace and his team under more pressure than ever for what promises to be another propulsive and explosive run of episodes. I can’t wait to see our brilliant cast and crew rise to the challenge of shooting another four stories based on Peter James’ iconic characters."

Produced by Tall Story Pictures, part of ITV Studios and Vaudeville Productions, the new series of Grace will be written by Jess Williams, Guy Burt, Ed Whitmore and Caroline Carver, series produced by Kiaran Murray-Smith with Mathew Hamilton co-producing, and executive produced by Phil Hunter for Tall Story Pictures, Andrew O'Connor and Paul Sandler for Vaudeville Productions, Kiaran Murray- Smith, Peter James and John Simm.

The first episode of series six of Grace, which launched at the end of March, has become ITV's biggest overnight drama audience this year, and has since part-consolidated to 5.7m, making it the second most-watched drama on ITV after Gone.
