Hugh Laurie to lead new Apple TV+ thriller 'The Wanted Man'

It charts the rise and fall of an elusive and powerful head of a notorious British crime syndicate.


Today, Apple TV+ has announced The Wanted Man, a riveting new thriller starring Hugh Laurie, from creator, writer and showrunner George Kay, who brought us Hijack and Lupin.


The Wanted Man charts the rise and fall of Hugh Laurie’s character, Felix Carmichael, the elusive and powerful head of notorious British crime syndicate ‘The Capital.’


Untouchable for 20 years, Carmichael is finally apprehended, but while he’s held in the infamous Staplehurst prison, it becomes clear that he’s been betrayed by one of his own. As the traitor moves to dismantle the empire he has built, Carmichael must risk everything in a daring escape.


Willing to stop at nothing to take his revenge, if he succeeds, he’ll be a wanted man once more.


The eight-part drama will also star Thandiwe Newton, Fionn Whitehead, Gina McKee, Hazel Doupe, Elliott Heffernan and Stephen Dillane.


Co-produced by New Pictures and Kay’s Observatory Pictures, The Wanted Man will be directed by Jakob Verbruggen and has been created and written by George Kay who will executive produce alongside Willow Grylls and Matt Sandford.
