But can Terese bring herself to say goodbye?

As Toadie, Nell and Hugo prepare to officially say farewell to Erinsborough, Toadie helps the Kennedys get the house ready for his goodbye party and makes a point of saying he doesn’t need much, and it’s not like he’s going far.
But Susan points out this goodbye is as much for them as it is for him. Endings are as important as new beginnings. Inspired by her words, Toadie speaks to Melanie, to make sure they’re in a good place before he leaves.
Extremely supportive, Melanie encourages Toadie to forgive himself of his life choices and he reflects that he wishes he could speak to Terese the way he’s speaking to Melanie, because she won’t even see him.
At the hospital, Susan finds a distraught Terese who has realised Toadie will be leaving on their one-year wedding anniversary. But when Terese reveals she’s glad Toadie’s leaving and never wants to see him again, Susan realises the extent of her pain.
Meanwhile, JJ is looking forward to his last big date with Nell and tries to come up with something fun for them to do. His mums encourage him to keep it simple and just spend time with Nell.
Before he heads off on their date, he drops off some supplies to Eirini, accidentally bumping into Felix who is there collecting unwanted furniture. And it’s a moment of shock that throws both JJ and Felix.
Later, Felix goes to Remi to apologise, hating that his cross with JJ might’ve caused upset. After seeing Felix’s level of concern first hand, Remi softens, but when she passes on her perspective to Cara, she's unimpressed as Felix is not to be trusted, ever.
Before Toadie and the kids head out of Erinsborough and off to Colac, Karl and Susan throw a special farewell party. Many happy memories are shared from Toadie’s decades on the street as he’s celebrated with lots of laughs and surprises.
Karl and Susan have been dreading Toadie’s departure as he’s been their surrogate son for all these years, but before he goes, Toadie gives them a very special gift, cementing his place forever in the Kennedy family home.
Despite being invited to the farewell pizza party, Terese still feels too hurt and angry about Toadie breaking up their marriage to attend. Witnessing her torment, Paul doesn’t hold back from telling Terese exactly what she should do.
Getting closure, Terese does say goodbye as Toadie, Hugo and Nell head off, though not before Nell and JJ reaffirm their commitment to each other.
