Will she be forced to have a difficult conversation with him?
FOR WEEK COMMENCING 17TH JUNE
Seeing the increasing warmth between Jane and Vic, Sam plans an appointment to find her wedding dress, as a special surprise. However, Jane is less than enthused, but realising Sam is acting out of fear, she offers to speak to Sam. But Byron explains Sam needs to see Jane is still committed to marrying Mike and combining their families.
Wanting to do right by her future stepdaughter, Jane tries on a string of dresses and is surprised to find the perfect one. But a private tear in the change rooms indicates Jane has doubts about her engagement.
And it's a feeling that only grows when she returns home to find Nicolette and Vic planning to invest his money into a Stone family business that doesn’t involve her.
When Vic overhears Nicolette and Byron fearing Jane isn’t as committed to the wedding as she should be, he visits Jane just as she takes off her engagement ring to clean. As Vic posits that the people who love Jane have noticed she’s engaged to a man who keeps pushing back his return date, an incensed Jane asserts Vic has no place talking about her personal life.
When Vic boldly asks Jane why she and Mike are not together if they are so in love, she shuts down the conversation and asks Vic to leave. But as she’s left stewing on her ex’s astute perceptions, Jane later can’t find her engagement ring and furiously jumps to a conclusion.
Certain that Vic stole her engagement ring, Jane points out his history of deceit throughout their marriage as proof. Despite being shamed by his past misdeeds, Vic insists he’s innocent and Byron and Nicolette work to defuse the situation, each reasoning with a parent.
Flustered, Jane admits she may have simply lost her ring and ultimately opens up to Vic about her secret fears regarding Mike’s long absence. When Vic urges her to ask for the reassurance she needs from Mike, Jane braces for a difficult conversation.
