JJ steals a knife from Harold's to protect himself from Slade in Neighbours

What repercussions will his bad decision have?

FOR WEEK COMMENCING 26TH FEBRUARY

Toadie worries that he’s really screwed things up with Terese as she hasn’t come home and won’t answer his calls. But when she finally does, things don’t go any better.

Despite Toadie’s attempts at apologising, Terese isn’t interested in hearing it as she's hurt and wants him to understand that. Is it too late for Toadie to redeem himself?

JJ is determined not to show Dex he’s afraid of Slade, but when he shows up at school, JJ realises the threats are very real. Later, when the brothers walk to the complex, they’re once again confronted by Slade and his gang, putting JJ in a world of trouble.

In the wake of being punched, JJ swallows his shame and embarrassment and when Dex returns, JJ firmly asserts that they’re not to breathe a word of Slade’s attack to anyone.

Despite plastering on a calm front, JJ later swipes a sharp chef’s knife from Harold’s, an impulsive choice for self-protection. When Cara pays JJ an unexpected check-in at school, JJ scrambles to hide the knife.

As she ushers him to class, JJ’s forced to leave behind the knife, stashed high up between the lockers and a wall.

As pressure mounts for Jane and Terese, the Education Department site visit gets underway and knowing the Department has the power to pull the pin, Jane is determined for them to be on their A-game. More so when she learns Slade’s cronies have been hanging around the school.

However, distracted by the tension with Toadie, Terese’s corporate armour falters when the Department raises their concerns, including the lack of deviation between the construction and school boundary.

Things head further south when Curtis finds JJ’s stashed knife and enacts a lockdown. While a panicked Dex assumes the knife is Slade’s, the Department Head turns on an unsuspecting Terese, hoping the construction equipment has been securely stashed, or risk more serious security breaches.

When the knife discovered at the school is found to be a commercial kitchen knife, there's an element of doubt as to whether it was brought in by the gang.

Undecided on what the consequences of this will be without knowing the full story, Lana from the Department leaves, leaving Jane frustrated that Terese couldn't be more help.

With Andrew on a mission to solve where the knife came from, he discovers it went missing from Harold’s during the lunch rush and interrogates JJ, Dex and Nell who were on the scene.

Despite JJ’s covering, his guilt gets the better of him and he later confesses to stealing the knife, copping an official warning from Andrew and suspension from school. When Dex questions what will happen to Slade for assaulting JJ, Andrew admits it will be difficult to charge him given there were no other witnesses, leaving JJ’s fear of Slade unabated.
