With Karl in a coma, is Paul about to expose Darcy?

7-13 JUNE
Karl remains curious over Darcy doing business with Dr Anthony Halsworth and Paul agrees the partnership seems strange.
While Karl and Susan enjoy Leo and Krista’s going away party, Darcy meets with Tess in the hopes she might start afresh with him, somewhere other than Erinsborough. When Karl pops out to get more wine for the party, he spots Darcy and Tess, and gets a private word with her.
Tess also finds the Darcy-Halworth partnership strange and Karl questions her whereabouts on the day Amanda died, revealing the confusion over which café she met Darcy at. As his suspicions mount, Karl vows to call her later. Catching a glimpse of them together, Darcy doesn't like it one bit.
As the wild weather ramps up, Susan goes to Eirini Rising to help with a building issue, meaning Karl is all alone when Darcy pays him a visit. And their cat and mouse game comes to a head and as they air their suspicions about each other.
Rattled that Karl is onto him, Darcy injects Karl with a mysterious substance that paralysed him. With Karl in a comatose state, no one quite knows what’s going on and in the hospital, Remi indicates it could be a stroke which terrifies Holly and Susan as they wait with bated breath to see if he’ll survive.
While they all speculate on possible causes, Darcy stacks the deck in his favour by ‘finding’ opioids in Karl’s bag, leaving everyone with the assumption that Karl’s stroke was caused by his addiction.
However, Darcy has never been Paul’s favourite person and unbeknownst to all, Paul’s been Karl’s confidant as his suspicions of Darcy increased. And following Karl's dramatic health turn, Paul can’t help but keep a watchful eye on Darcy.
Feeling like there’s something underhand going on, Paul warns Susan of Karl’s lack of trust, but she plays it down as paranoia plain and simple. Accepting this on the surface, Paul believes Karl’s suspicions and decides to keep Darcy in his sightline.
