The next day, Rhona is shocked by how much yesterday’s activity has taken out of Marlon and hopes his exhaustion won’t impact his consultancy meeting. Confiding in Faith over the stress that Rhona is under, Mary worries how she will cope as a full-time carer.
Meanwhile, the consultant assures a gutted Marlon that he is pleased with his progress and is in the best place possible.
After pressing the consultant for a timeline on Marlon's recovery, Rhona arrives home and lashes out at seeing Mary with Faith in the pub.
Following Rhona's outburst, Mary worries Marlon’s move home will only increase Rhona’s exhaustion and urges her to consider the impact on herself and the kids.
Horrified by her suggestion of a separation, Rhona throws Mary out, appalled at her mother’s insensitivity.
