Can Wendy change Andrew's mind?
FOR WEEK COMMENCING 1ST APRIL
At odds over Sadie’s new relationship with Byron, Andrew disapproves, while Wendy is more focused on regaining membership into her daughter’s inner circle.
However, Wendy’s attempts to prove that she’s a ‘cool mum’ backfire when Sadie calls her out for being just as intrusive as her father.
Rocked by the truth bomb, Wendy tells Andrew that they need to take a step back, but unbeknownst to her, Andrew levels up his interference by slapping an unroadworthy sticker on Byron’s car and Sadie is appalled when she learns her father wrote up Byron's tyres.
After Byron relays his mechanic’s assessment that the tyres had at least another six months on them, an outraged Sadie confronts her father on his personal vendetta. He needs to get over the fact that she’s an adult with an adult sex life.
Despite her challenge and Wendy’s attempts to get through to him, Andrew remains staunchly in the anti-Byron camp. When Sadie offers to pay for new tyres, Byron suggests it may be wise for them to take a time-out, given Sadie’s parents are having trouble adjusting.
Hurt and rejected, Sadie ‘thanks’ Andrew for ruining her first big romance.
