Are all hopes for a future together, over?
5-11 OCTOBER
Despite feeling conflicted about their last interaction, Terese can’t help but be drawn to Paul and asks him to lunch as a thank you for looking after her the previous week.
When Jane warns Paul about the impact on him of being so close to Terese, he attempts to keep his feelings in check but fails miserably when Terese lightly touches his arm.
Troubled, Paul admits to Leo that he’s too close to crossing the line with Terese and vows to keep his distance from her from now on.
Later, Paul approaches Susan to confess his intention of taking a step back from Terese and begs for her assistance in making sure Terese is okay.
Whilst Karl is wary of his agenda, Susan assures she will be there for her friend and as much as it pains him, Paul begins to deflect Terese’s attempts to spend time with him and lets a string of her text messages go unanswered.
Immediately, Terese feels the sting of the rejection and although she tries to keep up a strong façade, Susan tactfully suggests a diversion by going out for brunch.
Initially, Terese is too focused on Paul to accept, but later conceives a way to use it to her advantage.
As she continues to feel confused and unhappy that Paul is avoiding her, Terese, in an effort to finally pin him down, drags Susan to the Day Spa at a time she knows she’s likely to run into him there.
While she ends up missing Paul again, Susan cottons onto her plan and reveals to Terese that Paul is staying away for a very good reason as his feelings are too strong and he doesn’t trust himself around her.
Whilst Susan hopes that this will reconcile her to keeping a distance between them, a miserable Terese can’t commit to that and admits nothing feels as good as Paul’s attention at the moment, leaving Susan worried for her friend.
