But what has he decided?
7-13 SEPTEMBER
Still reeling from heartbreak, Terese throws herself into work at Eirini Rising, testing Karl and Susan’s patience as she over-steps on all fronts at work.
Knowing her better than anyone else, Paul suggests Terese is using work as an emotional shield. After admitting he’s right, Terese apologises to Karl and Susan for her misplaced intensity, explaining the fact dawned on her while talking to Paul.
Privately, Karl and Susan worry about Terese spending time with Paul,
Meanwhile, Toadie accepts Mackenzie’s resignation, offering his congratulations on her new job in Paris. And she confesses that although she will miss Erinsborough, leaving will give her and Haz a chance to start afresh, unburdened by their history on Ramsay Street.
Resonating with Toadie and his current personal crisis, his feelings are further exacerbated when he later sees Terese and Paul laughing together.
Spotting Sonya’s mural and Melanie’s Drinks Diva Van, Toadie finds himself surrounded by ghosts of wives and lives past.
When Paul prioritises Terese over work, it doesn’t go unnoticed by Krista and Leo and Terese is grateful when Paul alleviates her misgivings and worries about attending the wedding.
Having taken in the intimacy between the exes, Toadie warns Paul that the last thing Terese needs is him crowding her. However, Toadie is burnt when Paul counters that he has no idea what Terese needs, which is precisely why they’re no longer together.
With his mind elsewhere, Paul later dismisses Krista’s idea that Lassiters should buy Harold’s, leaving her feeling rejected.
Elsewhere, Nell privately asks Terese if she’d be open to her staying over at Number 22 a couple of times a week. A ploy so she can spend more time with JJ.
Moved, Terese is keen. But when Toadie and Terese walk in on Nell and JJ locking lips, the two are officially busted!
