Trouble at work forces Wendy to miss Andrew’s family reunion in Neighbours

Is she unknowingly pushing Holly and Andrew closer together?

 28 JUNE - 4 JULY

Moved by Andrew’s reunion with his biological father, Holly reaches out to Izzy and is predictably let down. She seeks sympathy in Max, but his own history with Izzy leaves him unable to give Holly the support she needs.

Soon, Andrew comes to the rescue, ready to listen and offer non-judgemental support.

Wendy has an embarrassing hiccough while covering a Maths class and doesn’t notice Saskia heckling her for approval from her peers, but she does notice a difference in Saskia’s overall behaviour.

Feeling for her, Wendy seeks Saskia out and gifts her a pair of handmade earrings, while encouraging her to be herself and all will fall into place. Saskia takes the earrings, but will she also take Wendy’s advice?

When Holly expresses excitement at Andrew’s news that he has been invited to a party with his birth family, Wendy is determined to attend with him, but knows it’ll be a challenge to get the time off work.

Later at school, Wendy reprimands Saskia for being late to class who feels embarrassed in front of her classmates. When Jane thanks Wendy for help holding the fort, she accepts her thanks and asks for time off. But Wendy is needed at school for a VCE art assessment and an attached exhibition night.

Finding the earrings she gifted her in the bin, Wendy confronts Saskia who claims the earrings were taken by students and fears it will be the start of a bullying campaign. As Wendy is forced to cast her doubts about Saskia aside, Jane assures Saskia that Erinsborough High has a zero-tolerance policy towards bullies.

Later, Andrew is chatting with Holly when a frazzled Wendy interrupts to explain she won’t be able to attend Andrew’s family do, and although Andrew understands she has responsibilities to honour, he can’t help being a little disappointed.
