Vic keeps his health news a secret from his family before deciding to leave town in Neighbours

How will Leo take the news that Vic won't be investing in Yorokobi?

FOR WEEK COMMENCING 1ST JULY

As Leo seeks counsel from Terese over Vic’s lowball offer on Yorokobi. Terese agrees it’s a stinging offer, but encourages Leo to accept and retain a controlling 51% interest. Over at the Harris house, Leo arrives to accept Vic’s offer, but only if he agrees to a 49% stake. And Byron and Nicolette are thrilled that they own a vineyard, when Vic accepts.

Later, Jane is moved by Vic’s selfless choice to invest in his children’s future. Swept up in the moment, Vic impulsively kisses her, and a shocked Jane rushes away to Terese to debrief.

Meanwhile at his check-up, Remi reveals the results of Vic’s scan. An immunotherapy trial he was participating in in London has worked. His tumours have disappeared and his cancer is in full remission.

As Vic struggles to process his shock remission and unsure how to break the news, he works on maintaining his cheerful smile at a family breakfast celebrating the new vineyard venture. But with Nicolette and Byron too busy relishing the celebration to notice the uncomfortableness in the air between their parents, post-kiss.

After Nicolette’s heartfelt speech, Vic readies to announce his momentous news. But as he takes in the joyful faces of those he loves, he loses courage and later apologises to Jane for the kiss. In denial, Jane asserts that it’s forgotten.

Sincere, Jane tells Vic that she’s grateful that he’s devoted the time he has left to their kids and given them a life-changing legacy. In return, Vic tells Jane that it means the world that they’ve had the chance to make peace.

Later, Nicolette and Byron are anxious when they can’t get hold of Vic. Expecting to find him napping at the Share House, they reel when they find Vic’s belongings gone and envelopes addressed to each of them.

With Nicolette and Byron in disbelief, they realise their father has left town and has no intention of investing in Leo’s business. While Nicoleee is desperate to believe the best of Vic, Byron refuses to entertain any excuses.

Feeling duped herself, Jane concurs with Byron’s scathing character assessment but is privately disappointed that Vic has left without saying goodbye to her either.

Realising Vic has taken off without a word to Leo, Byron and Nicolette have a difficult conversation with him. As Leo reels from the news, Byron and Nicolette weakly apologise for their father.

However, Byron later thinks he might have an idea.

Later, Leo gets a surprise phone call from his cousin, friend and ex-employee, Kiri Durant. Restless with her life on Magnetic Island, Kiri makes a snap decision to return to Melbourne and help Leo with his business woes.

Not only does she want to help him revive the vineyard as an event space, she also wants to make a small investment. It’s not as much money as Victor had promised, but she’s hoping it’s enough to keep them afloat while they get re-established.

Leo is thrilled, until he receives an awkward text message that could potentially throw a spanner into the works.
