But will Leo accept the low offer on the table?
FOR WEEK COMMENCING 24TH JUNE
After Nicolette shows him around the vineyard, Vic starts to see Yorokobi as the business opportunity he’s been looking for. And with things going so poorly for Leo, Vic believes he might be open to the idea of a business partnership.
While both Nicolette and Byron are initially dubious that Leo would be interested, Vic proves them wrong after floating the idea with Leo who offers to consider it.
With all the pain the bottle poisoning has wrought, Leo’s beginning to see the benefit of having other people to shoulder the load.
Later, Vic warns his kids not to communicate with Leo while they begin negotiations, which concerns Nicolette, Byron and Jane. But Vic reminds them this investment is about their future and he’s not afraid to ruffle a few feathers to get the best deal possible.
As Vic celebrates having the vineyard as a family business, Jane cautions him not to get ahead of himself. But Sam, Nic and Byron are also excited, mostly by the prospect of their first big event being Jane and Mike’s wedding.
Noting Jane’s discomfort about this, Vic later urges Jane not to fall into old patterns of ignoring her own needs and needs to talk to Mike. Walls up, Jane assures everything is fine.
After a check-up at the hospital where he submits to a radiology scan at Remi’s urging, Vic heads to the vineyard for a tour of Yorokobi. And Leo is hopeful when Vic assures him he’s aware of Leo’s blameless run of bad luck and can view recent financial windfalls through a big-picture lens.
Later, Nic and Byron tell Vic that they want him to put in an offer for Yorokobi, only to learn their dad has already done so. Although Vic is confident that they’ll be going into partnership, an incensed Leo tells Vic his low-ball offer is an insult.
Vic counters that the only alternative for Leo is to lose his business altogether; he has two days to decide, then the offer is off the table.
