And we've been promised more misery is coming.
Following a record-breaking first season, Wednesday will be back for a second season on Netflix with Jenna Ortega returning as Wednesday Addams, with more information to follow.
The first season of Wednesday charted Wednesday Addams' years as a student at Nevermore Academy, where she attempted to master her emerging psychic ability, thwarted a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and hoped to solve the murder mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago. All while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.
Speaking exclusively to Tudum, creators, showrunners and executive producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar said "It's been incredible to create a show that has connected with people across the world. Thrilled to continue Wednesday's tortuous journey into season two."
"We can't wait to dive head first into another season and explore the kooky spooky world of Nevermore. Just need to make sure Wednesday hasn't emptied the pool first."
To which Jenna Ortega, who is returning as Wednesday Addams, added "[Wednesday] sticks to her guns, and she’s not out to please anybody. Which, as someone who used to be an immense people pleaser, I really respect."
Season one broke Netflix records for most hours viewed in a single week, with 341.23m hours viewed in week one and then broke its own record the following week with 411.29m hours viewed.
Wednesday is now one of the most successful series ever on Netflix, ranking at number two on the Most Popular (English) TV list with 1.237 billion hours viewed within its first 28 days. Only Stranger Things 4 and Squid Game reached the same milestone within their first 28 days.
More details about the second season of Wednesday, from casting info to plot secrets to follow.
