It's another HUGE week of unmissable telly!

This week is one of the most jam-packed of the year with nine unmissable telly shows to look forward, inlcuding returning favourites such as Strictly Come Dancing, Slow Horses, All Creatures Great and Small, Waterloo Road, Married at First Sight UK and Brassic for its final series.


Elsewhere, Mae Martin's new project Wayward launches on Netflix, as does Steven Knight's new drama House of Guinness, and on ITV1, David Tennant, Robert Carlyle and Toby Jones star in Jack Thorne's new drama, The Hack.

 RETURNING COMPETITION SHOW

STRICTLY COME DANCING

Saturday 20th September at 6.40pm on BBC One

Strictly Come Dancing is BACK and Saturday's launch show will see Tess and Claudia welcome 15 new famous faces to the ballroom and the show will start with a bang, as the entire Strictly family will hit the dance floor for an epic opening performance, with this year's two new professionals arriving in style with a sizzling poolside routine.


This year's line-up includes Olympian and Gladiator Harry Aikines-Aryeetey aka Nitro, TV personality, broadcaster and author Dani Dyer, actor Alex Kingston, former professional footballer and football manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, actor and EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal, YouTuber and podcaster George Clarke, performer, presenter and singer La Voix and former England rugby captain Chris Robshaw.


Also taking part are trailblazing model, actor and influencer Ellie Goldstein, TV personality, social media star and businessman Thomas Skinner, TV star and broadcaster Vicky Pattison, actor and Neighbours star Stefan Dennis, Hollywood correspondent, author and broadcaster Ross King, sports presenter and legendary Lioness Karen Carney and former Emmerdale actor Lewis Cope.


Judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke keep a watchful eye over proceedings as 15 new partnerships are formed, but who will be paired with whom?


Elsewhere, Jessie J will be performing and 2024 Strictly champions Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell will return for one last dance together.

MARRIED AT FIRST SIGHT UK

The most talked about dating experiment is back for a brand new series on E4 and as a new group of brides and grooms first meet at the altar to make their vows in stunning wedding ceremonies.


They’ll take of leap of faith to find love as they jet off on luxury honeymoons and start a bold new chapter in their lives. They’ll move in together, attend dinner parties with fellow couples, and reunite at commitment ceremonies where every couple will lift the lid on how they really feel in their relationship.


Across their time in the experiment, they’ll be guided by our relationship experts Paul C. Brunson, Melanie Schilling and Charlene Douglas, who are ready to help these hopefuls find love.

WATERLOO ROAD

Waterloo Road is back and this series marks the arrival of Jon Richardson as the school’s new media studies teacher, Darius Donovan. With tons of charm, this new teacher knows how to put on a good show, and viewers can expect his arrival to stir things up at Waterloo Road.


The series will also introduce students, newcomer Fintan Buckard and Savannah Kunyo as Ben and Hope Drake, with Christine Bottomley appearing as Sam Drake. The grand-children and daughter of Dame Stella Drake, who made waves as the new headteacher of Waterloo Road in series 15.


This September, Headteacher Stella is forced to navigate a fresh set of challenges, and this family dynamic will undoubtedly alter her approach on how she manages things, as well as relationships with students and fellow teachers. With another tragedy on the horizon, the choices of some of Waterloo Road’s own will have some life-changing consequences.


In the first episode, Schuey and Agnes cause uproar when they rebel against Stella’s new rules. New teacher Darius Donovan arrives and shakes up the staffroom, while Jack Rimmer returns to school.

SLOW HORSES

Apple TV+'s hit espionage drama Slow Horses, which follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 known affectionately as Slough House is back for its fifth series.


Gary Oldman returns as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but cantankerous leader of the spies who end up in Slough House due to their career-ending mistakes as they frequently find themselves blundering around the smoke and mirrors of the espionage world.


In season five, everyone is suspicious when resident tech nerd Roddy Ho has a glamorous new girlfriend, but when a series of increasingly bizarre events occur across the city, it falls to the Slow Horses to work out how everything is connected. After all, Lamb knows that in the world of espionage, the London Rules, cover your back, always apply.

THE HACK

Written by Jack Thorne, ITV1's new drama The Hack is set between 2002 and 2012, and deftly interweaves two real life stories, the work of investigative journalist Nick Davies, played by David Tennant, who uncovered evidence of phone hacking at the News of the World.


Running parallel will be the story of the investigation into the unsolved murder of private investigator Daniel Morgan, led by former Met Police Detective Chief Superintendent Dave Cook, played by Robert Carlyle. With Toby Jones playing former Editor-in Chief of The Guardian, Alan Rusbridger.

Set in 19th-century Dublin and New York, the story begins immediately after the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness, the man responsible for the extraordinary success of the Guinness brewery, and the far-reaching impact of his will on the fate of his four adult children, Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben, as well as on a group of Dublin characters who work and interact with the phenomenon that is Guinness.

Created by Mae Martin, Netflix's new drama Wayward is a thrilling and genre-bending limited series about the eternal struggle between one generation and the next, what happens when friendship and loyalty are put to the ultimate test, and how buried truths always find a way of coming to the surface.


Set in the picture-perfect town of Tall Pines, with sinister secrets lurking behind every closed door. Not long after police officer Alex Dempsey, played by Mae Martin, and his pregnant wife Laura, played by Sarah Gadon, move into their new home, he connects with two students Abbie and Leila, played by Sydney Topliffe and Alyvia Alyn Lind, from the local school for "troubled teens" who are desperate to escape and could be the key to unearthing everything rotten in the town.


As Alex begins investigating a series of unusual incidents, he suspects that Evelyn, played by Toni Collette, the school's mysterious leader, might be at the centre of all the problems.

All Creatures Great and Small returns this week for its sixth series as we return to Darrowby in May 1945 to find Skeldale House at sixes and sevens.

As victory in Europe is declared, there is the promise of peace at last, but James is wishing for a greater sense of peace at the surgery as he juggles vet work with a busy family life and an exceptionally challenging Siegfried. Helen’s enjoying time with young Jimmy and Rosie but has big changes afoot at Heston to contend with.


Tristan returns from several years at war and will have to re-adjust to life back home in Darrowby. Meanwhile, Mrs Hall works hard to bring everybody back together and restore harmony at the surgery!


We watch as our characters re-connect with each other and find their renewed purpose, looking to a brighter future as the world around them starts to breathe again.
