Can Spain topple Argentina in the World Cup?



This week's best telly includes the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final in which Argentina will try to defend their title against 2010 champions, Spain, as well as the return of hit dramas The Crow Girl, The Undeclared War and Granite Harbour.


Elsewhere, Oti Mabuse and Reverend Richard Coles reunite after their 2024 stint in the I'm A Celeb jungle for an adventure of a lifetime in South Africa.

 SPAIN VS ARGENTINA

After 37 days and just days after England's 1-2 defeat against Argentina in the semi-finals, the time has come to crown the 2026 FIFA World Cup champions as Spain face Argentina in New York New Jersey Stadium.


Coverage is expected to begin from 7pm on both BBC One and ITV1, with kick-off at 8pm. Will Argentina keep hold of their title, or will Spain win their second title since their 2010 victory?


And if you can bear it, England will be facing France on Sunday 18th July in the battle for third place, with kick-off at 10pm on BBC One.

THE CROW GIRL


Monday 20th July on Paramount+



The Crow Girl returns to Paramount+ this week for its second series, with Eve Myles and Katherine Kelly returning as DCI Jeanette Kilburn and Dr. Sophia Craven.


The second series of The Crow Girl sees DCI Jeanette Kilburn's hunt for the killers of young male asylum seekers take a shocking new turn, as a mummified body discovered in a church wall and a body in a freezer reveal a chilling connection.


As Jeanette digs deeper, Dr. Sophia Craven begins to suspect Victoria Burkeman, her mysterious and unstable former patient, could be responsible.


With the case growing darker, Sophia suspects Victoria is more familiar than she thought, and Jeanette must face the terrifying truth: the killer may be closer than she ever imagined.

THE UNDECLARED WAR

The Undeclared War returns to Channel 4 this week after four years for its second series, with Simon Pegg returning as Danny Patrick, Director of Operations at GCHQ, alongside Hannah Khalique-Brown as Saara Parvin, a brilliant young coder on placement at GCHQ, Alex Jennings as Danny’s boss and David Neal as the Director of GCHQ.


Series two sees Siân Brooke join the cast as Barbara Patrick, Danny’s wife, ex-MI6 and now an analyst at GCHQ.


Set in 2024, The Undeclared War returns with what promises to be a fresh wave of tension and drama as the elite Malware Department at GCHQ grapples with the aftermath of a devastating Russian cyber-attack. Just when it seems the UK has gained the upper hand, Danny and the team uncover a far more dangerous threat.


The series also stars Danny Sapani as Charlie Francis, GCHQ’s Head of Security and Danny’s childhood friend, Ed Stoppard as Richard Marston, the newly elevated Foreign Secretary and a constant thorn in Danny’s side and Chloe Pirrie as Lt Colonel Roz Cavendish, seconded by Marston to GCHQ in the newly created role of Director of Rapid Response, a move which Danny interprets as a threat to his authority.

OTI AND RICHARD'S SOUTH AFRICAN ODYSSEY

Launching this week on More4 is Oti and Richard's South African Odyssey, in which former Strictly favourite Oti Mabuse takes her friend, Reverend Richard Coles, on the adventure of a lifetime in her home country, South Africa.


Through their journey full of wonder, they're both inspired to think about their own pasts and futures as they explore this remarkable country's jaw-dropping nature and landscapes, and its rich, provocative history and culture.


Oti and Richard begin their four-part journey in Oti's home province of Gauteng. In the region's capital, Johannesburg, they witness the entrepreneurial spirit of young South Africans as they meet fashion designer Sebo and make outfits celebrating African-patterned textiles.


In Soweto, they meet Mandy, a pioneer of tourism in the township, as they have a go at the famously fast pantsula dancing. Oti reunites with her sister, who works as an engineer in the city. Richard visits the rose garden of the botanical gardens, they head to the inspirational Drakensburg mountains for an unforgettable helicopter ride, and a world-renowned boys' choir brings them to tears.

GRANITE HARBOUR

Granite Harbour returns to BBC One this week for its third series, as Romario Simpson and Hannah Donaldson reunite as crime duo Lindo and Bart.


In the new series, reeling from DI Mallick’s betrayal, Davis and the team at Northeastern HQ return to investigate a complex case involving Aberdeen’s traveller community after a birthday celebration ends in tragedy and a girl is found dead.


As the investigation gets underway, Lindo and Bart must navigate a complicated cross-community romance which uncovers a complex past.


The series also stars Dawn Steele as DCI Cora MacMillan and Michelle Jeram as DS Simone 'Monty' Montrose.
