This week’s best telly includes a fair amount of new comedy as well a brand new music show and the highly anticipated return of Stranger Things.

Here are the 7 shows you have to watch this week...

1.  Halloween Comedy Shorts

Monday 23rd October on Sky On Demand & NOW TV

With Halloween just around the corner, Sky are releasing three brand new comedy shorts onto their On Demand platform; Andi Osho’s Twin Thing, It Should Have Been Me and A Deal. All three shorts feature a plethora of British comedy talent and showcase the work of three leading female directors; Kate Herron, Emily Greenwood and Nida Manzoor.

Andi Osho’s Twin Thing

Kehinde is excited to lead her first ghost tour through a haunted theatre, notorious for being the stomping ground of the ‘woman in green’, who slow handclaps each performance. But Kehinde is in for a shock greater than she ever imagined. Written by and starring Andi Osho.

It Should Have Been Me

It’s the morning of Kelly’s wedding and she has turned into a Bridezilla. So far only one of her bridesmaids has turned up amid strange goings on at the hotel. Phones stop working, the door is jammed shut and the wedding cake is festering with maggots. Written by Bex Harvey and starring Jessica Knappett as Kelly and Jessica Regan as Caroline.

A Deal Jen faces a dilemma when a strange woman approaches her in a pub and promises her £4million in exchange for giving her scary information about her future. What should she do? She wants the life-changing pile of cash, but can she handle the knowledge this stranger will give her? Written by Dan Mersh and starring Sheila Reid as Lucy, Jaz Deol as Tom and Mandeep Dhillon as Jen. Dan Mersh provides the voiceover for the Doctor.

5. Sounds Like Friday Night

Friday 27th October at 7:30pm on BBC One

Sounds Like Friday Night sounds a lot like Top Of The Pops, and in many ways that’s because it’s the first mainstream music show to air in a similar slot on BBC One since Top Of The Pops was axed in 2006.

Broadcast live from the iconic BBC Television Centre in White City, the home of so many classic TV shows, this initial six-part run will be fronted by Greg James and Dotty and each week they will be joined by a different major music artist who will complete the hosting line up.

This week's guest host is Jason Derulo, who as well as hosting will be singing live in the studio. He’ll also be introducing performances from Charlie Puth and Jessie Ware. Will it cut through in the same way that Top Of The Pops did? Only time will tell...

6. Strictly Come Dancing

Saturday 28th October at 6:35pm and Sunday 29th October at 7:15pm on BBC One

It’s the spookiest event in the Strictly Come Dancing calendar and this year’s Halloween special promises the return of spiders, witches, broomsticks and ghosts to the Strictly ballroom.

If the celebrities thought the dancefloor was scary before, they’re in for an even bigger fright tonight as Tess ‘Devilish’ Daly and Claudia ‘Werewolf’ Winkleman present what promises to be a spine-tingling show as the remaining 11 couples enter into the spirit of Halloween and fight for their place in the competition.

On Sunday night, sadly one couple must leave the competition for good and there’ll be a special musical performance comes from pop-sensations Steps!

7. Harry Potter: A History of Magic

Saturday 28th October at 9pm on BBC Two

It’s 20 years since J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone but Rowling’s fantastical creation wasn’t entirely make-believe. To mark the 20th anniversary of her book, this new documentary uncovers the real life traditions of magic at the heart of Harry Potter.

A journey through legends, belief and folklore, this film goes behind the scenes with the British Library as they search to tell that story through objects in their collection, in an ambitious new exhibition: Harry Potter: A History Of Magic.

J.K. Rowling will be lending unseen manuscripts, drawings and drafts from her private archives, which will sit alongside treasures from the British Library, as well as original drafts and drawings from Jim Kay and talks about some of the personal items she has lent to the exhibition and gives new insight into her writing and looking at some of the objects from the exhibition that have fired her imagination.
